Collectable Hand Made Carafe with decorated ribbings.
This is a rather gorgeous dinner ware object, a Carafe of English origin and dating to ca. 1900-1910.
Rather stylish to use, either for on the dinner table, or perhaps some special occasion.
Made of hand blown finely ribbed glass, with a almost modern, straight conical shape; mounted with silver plated collar and handle.
A rather pleasing quality object, this being used for White Wine, Rataffia, or White Port.
In summer it was often used either for light cordials, wine or chilled orange blossom and saffron water. to accompany any dessert wines. Quite light to lift. It also pours quite well, avoiding those nasty unwanted drips or stains.
This serving decanter by using the clever spiral design, will accentuate the colour of the contents.
