Collectable Antique Writing Materials
A very uncommon and attractive Delft Blue and White desk set, made by the Porcelyne Fles in Delft. Marked for Holland, for 1884.
A very agreeable and useful object to grace any workspace, involving reading and writing.
It has a distinctive stylised floral design reflecting the Oriental influence of peony flowers, which stand for Wealth and Distinction.
The set comprises a square shaped pen tray with the inkwell, glass liner and lid, situated in the middle.
The approximate sizes in centimeters are;
Total height; 9.00 cm. Dish/pen rest; L 9.00 x W 6.00 cm. Weight; 740 grams. ( just under one lb)
Condition; The condition is good, with a tin craquele glaze and normal wear and tear. No chips, or damage to the object etc. Both red and blue ink staining, on the inside of the inkwell.
